Do you have a great idea you would like to see happen in your community?

The Borough provides grants of up to $2,000 to community organisations that support community, art and cultural projects and activities that enhance the well-being and quality of life of residents living in the Borough of Queenscliffe.

The Borough of Queenscliffe Community Grants Program is provided to:

Encourage and assist common interest groups to take an active involvement in the life of their community for the overall benefit of that community and its members.
Help communities to help themselves to become stronger, more economically, environmentally and socially sustainable.
Enhance leadership and other civic skills within communities so as to enhance the capacity of those communities to address local issues and challenges and to build vibrant, healthy places.
Develop a sense of community spirit, pride, ownership and identity within communities.

Other ways to secure grant funding

Getting grants can be difficult. This is particularly the case for smaller communities, however Council is not the only source of grant funding.

The 'Grassroots Grants' resource kit can be used by a wide range of organisations including: sporting or recreation clubs, community managed welfare services, education providers, associations, church groups, service clubs, community centres, resident groups, support groups or environmental groups. Also, if your project doesn't fit within Council’s Community Grants Program, there are many organisations that might be able to assist. These include state and federal government departments, philanthropic groups and the private sector – including many financial institutions.

GrantsLINK	GrantsLINK is a government grants portal that lists grants that are available for community projects that develop solutions to local problems, fund ideas and initiatives, or provide assistance in times of hardship.
Our Community	Our Community is an online resource that provides information on all aspects of running a community group and has access to resources, training, advice and tools on how to access grants.
Community Portal	Community Portal helps Australian groups and communities find relevant information, including locating grants and how to apply.
Australian Parliament House Library	The Australian Parliament House website features resources and information about community grants and includes links to selected sources of Commonwealth, State and Territory financial assistance which is available to community groups, non-government organisations and commercial services.
Philanthropy Australia	Philanthropy Australia is the national peak body for philanthropy. Their website provides information on how to seek grant funding from Australian philanthropic trusts and foundations.
