Playground Strategy

In August 2002 the Council adopted a Playground Development Strategy as a forward planning document for the next five years.

The strategy covers the compliance of existing playgrounds to Australian Standards and recommends a five-year development plan.

The key features of the plan are:
• The need to establish a playground hierarchy i.e. local, district and regional playgrounds
• A regional playground is proposed for Princes Park in Queenscliff
• Nine local playgrounds are proposed
• It is proposed to close playgrounds in Jennifer Crescent and Jacqueline Court.
• Paths, seating and shade structures are an important consideration for playgrounds, in particular regional and district playgrounds.
